oran majestic unraced stake galway

Im heading to galway track later today to support my neighbour who has "dishwasher Dave" (true honcho-Mitsubishi flyer) in the 9.15 heat of the sweep
he ran very well to come from behind last week to win going away in a fast time of 29.15
i will post a brief report of the racing here tomorrow morning
UPDATE
On my first trip to Galway stadium after a 3 hour drive in sweltering heat it turned out to be a nice surprise with a well prepared track and a beautiful stadium the only downside was that there was a very small crowd in my opinion for a city track where a decent card was on show.
My main interest on the night was the oran majestic unraced quarter finals where my friend Steven had a dog in the fourth heat but i will start at the first heat.
HEAT 1
The opening show here down the card was 4,4/6,2,8,8,8 with the 2 dog drifting to evens at the off.
At trap rise where often races are won and lost it was trap 6 Alice and me who was best away and was joined by 2 and 3 at the bend, trap 6 and 3 bumped thus allowing trap 2 Caz diamond take control of the race up the back followed by 5 and 1, from there it was plain sailing for the leader and he powered right away to win in a 28.88 from 3 and 5 ,trap 1 the other sonic throwing away his qualifying chance on the run in by "checking" badly on the run in.
HEAT 2
Opening show down the card 4,4,4/6,2,10,10 trap 5 was absent replace by the G Holland trained riverside honcho. A
t the off the favourite trap 3 blade shadow had drifted to 5/4 looking like the bookies wanted to get this one beat and so it turned out with the G Holland trained pair trap 4 broadacres turbo and trap 5 taking flyer's from traps followed by the favourite trap 3 who took a bump from 2 losing all chance of qualifying.
Up the back the Holland pair were in splendid isolation and the battle was on for the 3rd place where the locally owned tyrur dog ran well enough to qualify.
winning time here was 28.74 with broadacres turbo coming home 2 1/2 lengths in front of his kennel mate so Graham Holland getting 2 through in that heat would have been a happy man in limerick.
HEAT 3
The most anticipated heat of the q finals where the reported 50,000 1st round purchase move on myway took his place in trap 4.
in a hot enough heat with farloe batman in 2 and droopys misty in 6 opening show down the card 5,2,6,1/2,8,5/2 again the bookies wanted to lay this hot fav eventually going to traps 5/4.
From a fairly even break it was it was trap 6 the O Mckenna trained droopys misty who got to the bend inf ront from the fav trap 4 followed by 3 and 2.
A coming together between 3 and 4 here allowed trap 2 farloe batman to slip through, the fav move on myway looking to be in trouble after coming off worse after the tangle with trap 3
tyrur murf.
The order up the back was 6 followed by 2 with trap 4 giving chase the finishing order remaining the same with trap 3 and 5 the unlucky runners of the race the winning time here was 28.75
HEAT 4
Opening show down the card 6/4,8,6,3,10,4/5 this on paper looked a 2 dog race between the trap 6 tyrur kenny and the Kerry owned trap 1 dishwasher dave with the other 4 runners out with the washing in the betting.
At trap rise it was 5 moyvane lace who showed first followed by trap 6 tyrur kenny and trap 1 dishwasher dave
Trap 6 showing a nice burst of early pace to take up the running at the first bend coming off the second bend trap 6 had slipped the field from 5 and 1 who had picked up the 5 dog up the back straight but could make no inroads on the leader who came home alone in 28.76 from dishwasher dave with trap 4 tyrur marty running on for 3rd so p.j Fahy a happy man with 2 through from this heat to the next round.

If i had to pick a winner of the sweep i would plump for tyrur kenny but there are lots in with chances and the semi final draw will be interesting and if some of the hot pots can be drawn apart it should make a worthy final
