Catunda harry last night was crowned the 2007 laurels champion after making all from trap 3 the race was set up for him with the withdrawal of robhino during the week all the same there was 4 other quality greyhounds in the line up the only dog that looked like getting in a blow was derby runner up tyrur laurel but he could just never get on level terms with the winner who flew round in 28.18 my fancy spider said completely missed his break from trap 1 never got in a blow after being slow away

On the under card kranky kieran produced a faultless display to win in a flying 30.88 for the 575 trip a top class run

Scarty lad again pulled out a top draw performance when winning the open 550 on the night making it win number 23 for this flying black leaving some big names in his wake including the 2007 ledger winner lughill jo he didn't trap that well but his early pace got him to the bend and it was all over bar the shouting stopping the clock in a decent 30.02

I was in tralee to watch the action and there was some quality racing on show here also green heat the 07 produce stake winner look nailed on in the open 550 on the night but took a crashing fall at the second bend and he will be very lucky if he comes through it with out picking up a serious injury to be sure he will be very sore this morning

The dual track recorder holder iflookscouldkill took his place in the open 750 and looked like a handy pick up on the night but was made to work very hard for his win by veteran king okee running his 99th race yes i did say 99 he bombed out and set a scorching pace but the track record holder picked him up on the run in to win in a decent 42.25 but for a dog running his 99th race he ran brilliantly in defeat it will be nice to see him get the century up in the coming weeks
