The Kingdom greyhound stadium hosts one of its biggest competitions of the year tonight with the first rounds of the annual kingdom derby advertised for 48 entries it failed to fill which was to be expected seeing as the big classic is being run in galway at the same time
36 go to war in the first round with 4 qualifying from each heat even though it failed to fill some top dogs are on show with the likes of four dubs,scarty lad,jacksheaboy,goldstar joe and an off form droopys electric if he can show some of his old sparkle he will be in with a big shout of taking the outright honours spider said is another on show this fella fluffed his lines in the final of the laurels but will be well suited to tralee with his brilliant early pace and could be in the final shake up although he has a tough heat to start with against track specialist and crowd favourite scarty lad it should be some buckle to the bend between these 2
i will be shouting home scarty lads for his owners gary and pa and it would be nice if he could pull off a big prize as so far he has had no luck in the bigger competitions making early exits in the laurels and ledger this year
