Sensational scarty

Kingdom greyhound stadium hosted the 2 semi finals of the kingdom derby last night and once again scarty did the business from a tough draw and a tricky heat with the likes of jacksheaboy and shanacastle lad in the line up it was always going to take a bit of winning
the bookies tried there best to get the jolly beat with scarty drifting to 5/4 from 4/5 they wanted to lay him and in the heat he was in i wouldn't have blamed them
From an even enough break scarty showed brilliant pace to just make the bend where he was bumped and looked to clip the rails,shanacastle lad took his chance here after holding his line around the opening he bend he led from scarty up the back with about 2 lengths to spare,here scarty really opened up and at the third bend a gap opened and he took it a lesser dog would have bottled it but he took the opening when it appeared and then ran away to win by 2 lengths in a brilliant 28.77
Ive watch this dog run since the start of his career and last night was his BEST performance. when the chips where down he came up trumps
Lets hope his luck holds for the final he looks to have a plum draw in trap 3 although low handicap is on his inside and has serious early pace scarty will be a hot favourite to make it 8 in a row in the final next week
In the second semi final catunda francie went off fav but he got no run and it was left to the local runners to fill the qualifying spots with callums lad winning in 28.94 from low handicap and climate kewel filling the third place spot
