I have to say i had one of the most enjoyable nights ever at tralee track last Friday night last with some top quality racing on the card,a massive crowd,healthy betting ring and a brilliant atmosphere on the night
The lee strand final and the "race of champions" where joint headline acts on the card and neither of these races disappointed
The lee strand had a few well fancied runners but i had the winner picked out 2 rounds ago and i was spot on with paradise santana coming out on top he took a flyer from traps and was 4 clear off the second bend,after that i was counting my money he stayed on strongly to win in 30.05 his fastest time of the competition
The race of champions was next on the card with some classy sorts in the line up it had the makings of a real classic but there was only to be one winner with melodys pat taking a flyer from trap 4 it was all over at the first bend where some of the other runners met trouble in running "pat" was making his merry way home he was six clear going up the back and he was being cheered home by the local crowd he won easily in the end in a new track record time of 29.62 from a staying on droopys arsene,some of the other fancied runners on the night never got in a blow and as for si senor we could have seen him for the last time n a track he ran very flat and maybe now is the time to retire this great servant
All in all 10/10 for tralee management and the lee strand sponsors on a brilliant night that ran without a hitch
