Tralee last night hosted a benefit night in aid of temple street hospital and i have to say it was very well organised and run by john o shea and johnny moriarty no big delays between races with the presentations and raffles run off in double quick time...well done lads
On the racing front there was a massive run by the mossie o connor trained kick for touch stepping up in class it was his first big test but he proved well up to the task at hand blitzing his rivals in a brilliant 29.72 for the 550 just under a length outside the recent track record run by melodys pat,the bookies wanted to get this fella opening up at 4/6 but they where shouting evens at the off and quiet a few locals where accommodated to decent wagers
He will have to step up another notch to compete with the "premiership" stars of the dog racing scene but I'm sure he will be more than capable of holding his own
Rick rose from lyrecompane had a nice winner on the night in the shape of rogue cop who took the open 550 on the card coming away from trap 1 moderately enough he showed good pace to lead at the first bend and there after it was catch me if you can and nothing got near this son of knockabout wok the trio paid a handsome €159 which i had to share...lol
well done rick
