There where no major upsets in shelbourne last night i suppose the nearest thing to what you could all an upset was nawhobbethadda and ciaras castle not qualifying... but that's racing!!
performance of the night for me was the run of headleys bridge,a brilliant performance from start to finish after coming away very slowly from trap 1 he was a poor fourth going up the Back and showed a smashing turn of pace to cut right through the field to win easily in the end
i have to say he has taken me by surprise by the way he is competing with the best dogs in the country having seen him running in tralee in his earlier career i wouldn't have said he was the stamp of a derby dog but clearly he is and will be a dog that can keep qualifying and there is no reason that he couldn't go on to win it
Kerry owned dogs are certainly to the fore in this years derby and we are in with a big chance

seriously though i still would give paul hennessy a massive chance again this year he has quality dogs running and the fact that the majority of the leading lights are guarded is a massive plus
