I was in clonmel last night with aughcastla adam to take my place in the final of the Celtic bookmaker novice open final i went in hope rather than any realistic chance of winning but i have to say Adam ran really well to finish 3rd and had some useful greyhounds behind him so i was happy enough
He was the outsider in the betting but belied his odds to get up for third on he night and if he had come away a little better and got a run at the winner I'm sure he would have been a lot closer the impressive winner judicial audit trained by michael o donavan ran a top class race and looks a decent prospect he did however have age on his side with my fella and the runner up giving him 6 months which is a lot when you are talking about pups
Adam has now advanced to a2 grade with out winning but I'm confident he will get off the mark in his next few races I'm undecided as to where or when to run him at the moment but im leaning towards tralee for a small sweep or one off race at the moment i would prefer to run him in pups races but a this point in time they are scarce on the ground
