Kingdom derby heats up

The 4 quarter finals of the kingdom derby also took place last night with most of the fancied runners booking there place in the next round
Allmightyjack was the first to book his place in the next round this james roche trained dog had the early pace advantage on a few of these and flew the lids and won well in the end from the enigmatic fermoyle honcho with michael donavans charge everybody saidno taking 3rd spot
The second heat of the night looked a cracker on paper with ballymac bull and evons murralli lining up in trap 5 and 6 respectively with attakitt admiral going from 3 this one looked a race to the bend and that was how it panned out as "the bull" as the tralee patrons call him broke well from traps along with evons murralli but the bull however showed a bit more early and took up the running at the first bend from there he made his merry way home from attakitt admiral who ran really well in 2nd and my old favourite evons murralli grabbing the third qualifying spot
The third heat of the night looked an open enough affair and ann wades impressive winner last week snowy hill and owen mckennas bellmore ranger topping the betting albeit at 2/1 the field anyways as the race panned out snowy hill completely missed the kick and never got competitive,compass honey led the way here after pinging the lids but the writing was on the wall very early on when bellmore ranger loomed large on her outside he picked up the cork trained bitch at the third bend and ran out an easy winner skehard son ran well to take the third spot after early crowding
The final heat of the night threw together 3 of last weeks winners in the shape of college finsceal,cashen zig and rapid express,favouritism rested here again with the ann wade trained runner at 6/4,college finsceal last weeks quickest winner had the trap 1 to contend with and many thought it would be her undoing she however made light of the draw and flew the traps once again turning the corner in front it was cashen zig that was throwing down the gauntlet to college finsceal as they went hammer and tongs up the back he tried hard all the way but couldn't get to this this strong staying bitch and was actually collard for second by the fast finishing compass smash rapid express finished 4th to make it a depressing night for connections it just goes to show the ups and downs of racing when her 2 runners where 2 great winners last week both failed to make the frame this week and are going home
So interesting times ahead in the semi finals most impressive run on the night for me would have to the owen mckenna tained bellmore ranger but there are still lots in with chances the semi final
