galloping becoming a real pain

This cold snap we are currently getting is a real pain when it comes to a dogs fitness i like to gallop every second day but lately it really has been hit and miss you could miss 3 or 4 days galloping very easily with the gallops frozen and its really difficult to keep a dog 100 percent right if you cant get the desired work into them
Im trying to prepare kilhoran venture these days for the unraced mike cronin classic in march and he needs every bit of work he can get as he had a couple of hold ups at the back end of last year but its becoming really frustrating with the weather you cant trial or you cant gallop with the frost i gave 2 trips to banteer over the Christmas to try and get a trial but both times the track was frozen and came away empty handed but if i cant get him spot on ill probably leave him for another unraced maybe the kasco in thurles later in the year and being a July pup he has time on his side
