The clock is ticking!!

Well as the big final is getting closer with each waking hour i would be lieing if i didnt say the butterflys are starting already in the pit of my belly i have been in a few finals before worth decent money but the final of the red mills champion unraced is a very prestigeous competition and some really good dogs have gone on to better things after competing in it with the likes of he said so and spiral nikita coming to mind
All the hard work is done with our fella and he had his final gallop yesterday afternoon and im glad to say he has come off sound there is always that feeling that something will go amiss on his final gallop but thankfully he is 100 percent and ready for road
The phone has been busy all week with lots of good luck messages from friends and family and they are all much appreciated
The card for the race is now online and having known the draw for the past week i have played the race out in my head a number of times already..lol
its only when u see it on paper it looks more difficult...lol
anyways i will give a brief run down on the runners
  1. kilhoran venture... I'm probably going to be a little biased here!! this fella has impressed many shrewd judges during the early rounds and his early pace will stand him in good stead come final night, having posting the quickest time of the competition so far,if turning in front on the night............who knows!!
  2. minnies oscar... bred by the famous lizzie maher this son of big daddy cool has been ultra consistent throughout the competition and by all accounts had done some very smart unrecorded trials around clonmel before the competition he will be hard to beat and packs a strong finish
  3. deadly buzz.... what a great name for a dog and if this fella goes on to win I'm sure he will give his owner just that, this son of head bound x cabra dancer has done nothing wrong so far and after qualifying in 29.26 in longford he is clearly a very smart individual and will be in the shake up
  4. yahoo Gerry... this Michael Donovan trained son of droopys viera x droopys perlina will be a massive danger to all after blasting from traps in last weeks semi finals he is drawn well and will have a big say when the prizes are given out, trained by one of the best in the business he will have him primed on the night for a big run
  5. start it... this fella owned and trained by thomas leahy he has qualified for the final without winning a heat but he is there on merit he looks to lack a yard to the bend but stays on well he will be running on when the rest have cried enough any trouble up front would play into his hands
  6. De ex factor.... trained locally by the maestro him self paul hennessy this lad also has got to the final without winning a heat he unlikely to lead on all known form but if he is close enough at the third bend the ones in front had better look out the strongest stayer in the field by a country mile a step up in trip for this fella is surely on the cards

so there you have it,a very open affair and with three or 4 dogs likely to be vieing for favouritism on the night after that its in the lap of the gods!!

good luck to all finalists!!
