Aoife did enough to qualify in second in her heat of the collins bakers and deli A3 in youghal last night finishing second it was my first visit to youghal in a couple of years and it still has its old world charm
Tango ben from the kennels of tom tanner ran out the winner in the race breaking from traps well and leading for an all the way win Aoife turned second and was closing up he home straight but the line came to soon for her she is giving up lengths with her style of running the bends but it is something we will just have to deal with its nice to be in the next round and at this stage its all about qualifying
The 2 semi finals of the southern oaks where also on the card and there was a big turn up with the 5/1 shot rafa baby taking the first heat in 29.11 shanboy sophia and the fav cabra tiny took the other qualifying positions the second semi final saw the elimination of hot pot lady glenard in a very rough race bit view marie flew the lids and was the only one to avoid the hustle and bustle she went about her business to win in 29.12 with shanboy maria closing fast to take second from maries peer who took third after a very rough passage
The begleys from knocknagosel owns maries peer and they live just up the road from me so good luck to them in the final next friday night if she can turn close to the pace next weekend she will have a big shout
