The igb in the past week have launched a new video service which will show all the races from every track in Ireland the day after the race
this is a massive plus for buyers and sellers there will be no more hiding places for sellers and the buyer will be a lot more clued in to what he is buying
we have all seen the adverts unlucky, bumped, runs on like a train ,will be open class over 6 bends etc etc and now the buyer will be able to see for himself exactly how the dog runs and will be able to make up his own mind to the dogs worth
its likely that the igb will introduce a charge for this service in the coming months and if they can improve the quality of the picture i for one within reason would have no hesitation in paying a fee for same
The live streaming has been mooted as well from the provincial tracks and though this has a lot of positives it also has a share of negatives i watched tralee last Sunday and it seemed to work well although the first race was not streamed
The live streaming of big nights/finals from the provincial tracks would be a big pull and would help with much needed revenue but as for the ordinary race nights i think they should leave well enough alone as it would certainly hit the the numbers attending the tracks
**A little bug bear of mine at the moment since i got the broadband is the cost of accessing the stream now it effectively costs 20 euro on the igb site but yet it only costs 7.50 on the 24dogs i have been watching it on the dogs for the last few weeks and will continue to do so until the igb gets the cost into line with other operators**
