The greatest show on earth kicks off tonight in shelbourne park with the first round heats of the irish greyhound derby there will be many shattered dreams between now and the when the final 6 line up but if you are in it you can win it and even to get a dog to be able to line up in the first rounds is an achievement
I have had a look at the ante post list and it really is a mine field with so many permutations to take into account i will have a few small e/w punts today but will wait until the first 2 rounds are complete before i have a proper bet on the winner
The prices at the top of the market are very tight but one i like is thurslbeg joker this fella impressed me greatly in the UK earlier in the year and is handled by one of the best in the business another i like is contador this fella started his career in a blaze of glory but has dipped in form recently he will have to step up on his recent trial form but at 100/1 he could be a little value
Pat flahertys greenwell river is another i like at a big price he has some smart runs on his card including a recent 28.51 trial he is a seasoned racer and will be well prepared and could be a little value
so they are my 3 i will be having a cpl of small ante post bets on these but will hold fire on proper punting until a little later in the competition
