Headleys mentor ran well last night in an open race in curraheen after missing his break at the start and trailing the field early on he stuck to his task well to finish 3rd recording an estimated 28.77 a decent time in its own right,considering he did not have a trial there i was happy enough with his performance,there was a lot of early pace in the race and it was a race that was always going to be difficult to get a result in
The laurels looks like the next stop for him even though he is now a1 the owner would like to have a runner in it ,i have no misconceptions that he will be good enough to win it or anything but with a little luck and a cpl of nice draws he could go a cpl of rounds ill give him a few days off now as he has had a busy enough period the past few weeks
