Well the night cleared up and the rain stopped but it still felt like november in curraheen park last night with a strong wind blowing
Our dog after the ball qualified for the final next Saturday night finishing a lucky second; after breaking and going up well he came out of the first bend in 3rd place he didn't show enough of pace going up the back and rounding the 4th bend he was placed in fifth looking like he would bow out with a whimper... but there was a tangle between a couple of dogs in front and he skipped through to grab a very lucky second spot and to be honest he wasn't good enough to warrant his qualifying spot but on the night the luck was with him and he took his opportunity well..... there is enough of hard luck story's in dog racing so you take your good luck when it comes around
Looking to the final next week he has a mountain to climb with a load to make up on the clock and going on the split times all of the 6 final look to be well able to go to the bend and i think the race will be decided at the first bend
Our fella is trapping well and will have to be on his toes to get to the bend in front if he is to have any chance but its nice to be in a final and we will enjoy the night and you never know your luck..... we will have the holy water out before we leave from Kerry next Saturday evening ..lol
