English derby down to the final 6

Plough lane was the place to be on Saturday night last for the semi finals of the English derby a massive (and loud!!) crowd where on the terraces and they where not disappointed with some top racing on show
In two tricky heats the winners where going to be hard to come by but the class told in the end with loyal honcho taking a flyer from traps there was only going to be one winner coming home 3 lengths clear of blonde dino and tyrur kieran
The second semi final produced another Irish winner with tyrur laurel prevailing in a tight affair from kryptonite and lenson express
The final is very tough to call and is the most open for years with the bookies betting 5/2 the field
I would love to see loyal honcho win it for Seamus graham he has had so many near misses over the years and he is definitely due one
Tyrur laurel has been forever the bridesmaid and he is also due a winning turn after running second in the 07 laurels and Irish derby and also 2nd in this years gold cup will next week be his turn?
The long time ante post fav tyrur kieran is looking to do the double after already picking up the Scottish derby and if he does the business he will be on a million pound bonus if he can add the Irish equivalent come Sept to his cv
The early paced kyptonite looked to be all over a winner on Saturday night after leading from traps but was unable to keep his head in front and maybe the quick runs are catching up on him but with the maestro charlie lister in his camp he can not be ruled out
Lenson express has qualified away in every heat without winning and he wasn't that far away last Saturday running his best race so far of the competition and seems to be hitting top form at the right time.....remember westmead lord??.... he didn't win any heat of the 07 derby except the one that mattered and what celebrations there would be if Lenny ponders charge could do the business
Blonde dino takes the trap 6 for the final and it is not the best draw for him but if he can repeat his 4.82 sectional of an earlier heat he will be in with a big shout although he would be the outsider of the field in my book but we all know out in front is the place to be
Roll on Saturday night
