There was a nice double for 2 pups of palatine spice this weekend with both scarty rules and millabbey vixen both getting there head in front on Friday and Saturday nights respectively in tralee
Scarty rules was contesting an open in tralee on Friday night and after struggling for a few races in all aged company he got back on track with a trap to line win in a fast 28.87 he is still a young pup and really there should be more pup races for the likes of these dogs around the country its very difficult for young dogs that do a quick time in their first couple of races to compete with all age dogs and it can often destroy the confidence of a young promising dog very quickly
Tommy kearneys millabbey vixen got off the mark in contrasting style on the Saturday night winning from off the pace this lady broke very badly and trailed the field round the first bend but showed nice pace up the back and drove the third bend really well to take it up she ran on strongly to win in a nice 29.44 there will be a bit more to come from this lady if she can get it right from the box's
Palatine glen is another from this litter that will be racing shortly i have a half share in this lad along with his breeder stuart welford and we are aiming for the mike cronin unraced classic with him also he met with a set back early on but he will be going into full work very shortly and we have high hopes for him
