shocks a plenty in the mike cronin juvenile

Last night the kingdom stadium played host to a huge crowd to see the 2nd round heats of the mike cronin juvenile classic and they punters that paid in where not disappointed with some top class fare on offer with hot pots biting the dust at every turn
The bookies got off to a real bad start with the winner of the first heat in coolavanney mac this fella was very well punted for victory and reportedly took up to €16,000 out of the ring but his win was no fluke posting a quick 28.67 tommy donavans charge gold coast last weeks fastest winner failed to qualify here and went out
Seamus graham had the winner of the second heat in the shape of king style this fella was well fancied the previous week but let his supporters down but he made no mistake at the second time of asking pinging the lids to win easy in 28.68
Performance of the night for me came in the next with droopys larame coming from out of the clouds to pip the long time leader she was out with the washing and in all kinds of trouble for 4 bends but then then flew up the home straight to win on the line in 28.67 this lady was definitely the fastest dog on show last night but whether she will get the run of the race next week with only 2 to qualify is another question
The pat buckley keith allsop partnership had the winner of the next in the shape of slick cool beaten at odds on last week he made no mistake last night showing real good pace to the bend to win handy enough the runner up it has to be said ran really well to get as close as he did
The saleen kennels have a few useful sorts still in the competition and Christmas box will be a leading fancy to keep the money in kerry this year i was really impressed with him last week when showing great pace from behind that i had a good bet on him at what i thought was a good price at 5/4 he duly obliged posting a 28.54 run i actually thought he would clock a faster time in running but the clock doesn't lie
The final heat of the night saw two Clare owners that happened to be cousins having 2 runners from the same litter line up against each other and they both safely made it through to the next round with the winner coming in the shape of dalcash statesman in 28.62 this fella could yet be the dark horse of the competition
There is very little separating the winners on the clock so i will be keeping my powder dry on giving an outright winner but i will say i like the look of "saleens" Christmas box but keep an eye out for the dunphys droopys larame she is a "machine"
