Declan Dowling new tralee GM

Declan Dowling was appointed tralees new general manager during the week and i personally think it could turn out to be a masterstroke by the hierarchy
Declan has been in dogs for many years and knows how it feels to be an owner he has been chairman of the kgoba for the last few years and has worked hard for the owners often with his hands tied but now he will be pulling the strings and big things will be expected from him from the kerry owners
I feel sales and marketing will be a big part of declans new position and he will have to get on his bike and knock on doors to try and bring in sponsorship in these tough times
A canvas of all clubs and organisation should be his first port of call and a big push for the buster style sponsorship is the way to go in my opinion
The sponsors of charity meetings will be scarce on the ground and the days of asking plasterers,blocklayers and contractors to fork out 300 euros to sponsor a race at the drop of a hat are long gone so the buster draw is definitely the way to go to raise money
