KILHORAN STEPS IT UP
The pace stepped up in the Red Mills Champion Unraced at Kilkenny on Friday with the newly laid track obviously settling down nicely. The fastest time of the competition was posted by Kilhoran Venture (Daves Mentor/ Farantane Sinead) in winning the third heat.
Owned by John O’Sullivan and Frank Stuart Welford, Kilhoran Venture was a hugely impressive winner as he raced to a seven and a half length margin over market rival Deadly Buzz in 29.27.
The opening heat was won by Shane O’Gorman’s Yahoo Gerry (Droopys Vieri/ Droopys Perlena) as he raced to six and a half length verdict from Start It in 29.48. The other heat was a pretty troublesome affair but Dermot Maher’s hot favourite Minnies Oscar (Big Daddy Cool/ Minnies Miranda) stormed home a distance clear of De Ex Factor in 29.36.
