This weekend is one of the busiest weekends racing in the whole year with top class events all around the country and across the water
The racing kicks off on Friday night in harolds cross with the final of the Vodafone Corn Cuchulainn where the Kathleen Murphy pat Buckley trained droopys ike is the favourite to win this big pot unbeaten in all the heats he looks to be a good thing but the draw of trap 5 may play against him but i think he will have the class to prevail
Saturday night shelbourne plays host to the oaks final with a cracking field going to traps alexandrova looks to be the one to follow here the daughter of pacific mile looks head and shoulders above the rest of the line up and i expect her to win going away again the trap draw could hinder her early on but she can do it both ways from the front or coming from behind
The semi finals of the English derby take place across the water after the shocks of the previous round where some of the fancied dogs bit the dust it looks to be wide open with all 12 dogs in with a chance however i have fancied ullid Connor and loyal honcho for a while now and i think they will be good enough to qualify
Sunday night the action moves to clonmel for the final of the Munster derby a top class field again here has qualified for the final and the break will be crucial who ever leads up the back will take a lot of beating and i wouldnt be surprised if the record for the trip takes a battering i will be shouting for Aeriel view as he is owned and trained locally so best of luck to all the connections on Sunday night
