ballybunion schooling track

I decided to give a run to ballybunion today to give the 2 pups kilhoran classic and kilhoran choice a little "education"
The track was in great shape with grass on it like croke park its such a shame in one way that tracks are gone all sand as the grass surface is the best if kept well and prepared properly
the hare is very loud in ballybunion which i think is a big help in getting pups started
We entered the infield as there was a couple of trials before us classic took more of an interest than choice but choice wont be 12 months for another 4 weeks so I'm not to pushed
I headed for the first bend and slipped classic and he flew he was very puppyish around the bend running with his head up in the air but when he hit the back straight he opened up nicely and chased all the way to the pick up i was happy enough with him he still needs a hunt and a cpl of runs behind a drag will do him no harm then maybe another slip and then i will box him he is not big about 66/67 lbs at the minute but i would expect him to race around 69 when fully fit and muscled up
Next on to choice again he is not over big i would say around 65 lb at the minute but he will fill out a bit in the next couple of months as he is still young i only took him for a bit of company for the other fella but decided to give him a short slip as he was taking a keen interest he went half hearted enough and ran in patches but he ran all the way to the pick up so i was happy enough with him and i will put him away for another cpl of months before i do anymore with him
