Headleys mentor got his head in front last night in curraheen park giving me my first official winner as a private trainer and he also gave me my first winner ever in curraheen park i haven't had that many runners in curraheen to be fair but the win had eluded me up to now
I predicted a big run from him and though the time wasn't earth shattering a win is a win and he left a little time on the track, he ran well after some early bunching on the run to the corner where he again wanted the outside and he turned up the back second behind the fav killacolla pride steering a wide course he took it up between the third and fourth bend to win snug enough in the end
He hasn't done any damage to his card either which is a good thing but I'm seriously contemplating putting the wide seed back on him for his next race there is an a1 575 stake in limerick in a couple of weeks and i might stick him in that if i get a chance to trial him
so all in all a good nights work and we had a good few quid on him to boot so owner, trainer and a few more besides are happy!
